The harvest 197 for our family of winegrowers, we will remember for a long time its extraordinary climate characterized by spring frosts, summer drought. For the salvation of our grapes (and especially for the shoots that were pruned in the following year) it was crucial the choice not to cimare and not to leaf the vines, especially to protect the bunches from heat and drought. On the 24th of July a heavy hail fell on our vineyards with grains as big as apricots that extraordinarily fell vertically rather than sideways. Leaves and femaleslle protected the bunches, saving them from the fury of the event, but the plants were almost completely defoliated. The great heat and the strong heat return, to prevent our bunches from suffering serious damage due to direct exposure to the sun’s rays, we decide to harvest well in advance. The production is very low, about 24q.li/ Ha with a yield of 67%.
